Our lineage starts here with our history 

JAPANESE JIU JITSU 

Daito Ryu JuJutsu 

Dates back  780 - 1200 in Japan 

Founded by Minamoto No Yoshimitsu 

The art had many branches which one that lead to Aiki JuJutsu with Soke Takeda has head instructor 

Soke Takeda Sokaku a Military war hero / Martial artist  Oct 10 1859 - April 15, 1943 

Trained Choi Yung Sul in Japan for 30 years .

Grand Master Choi moved back to Korea and started teaching YU SUL which means soft art .

His student Grand Master Ji Han Jae  mentioned to him the name Hap KI Do and later Grand Master Choi called his art of JuJitsu = Hapkido which means to combine energy into a system . Putting Taekwondo in to his Jujitsu .

Grand Master Choi trained Grand Master Kim (Kim Lo Chong ) whom trained Grand Master Hodge whom trained Master Yarbrough whom has also been on the mat training hnads on with Hapkido Grand Master Ji Han Jae , Hyung In Shik , and many other old school korean Grand Masters from that era .

Grand Master Derman Hodge trained in Japanese  Aiki Ryu JuJItsu / Aikido under 

Soke TeSakura Tenaka the highest rank in Tenaka Ryu JuJitsu from Japan 

2011 9th degree black belt Grand Master / Hanshi   Derman Hodge formed the japanese federation of world martial arts skills institute federation and Seikai Bujutsu Kan Renmei 

This was the year Instructor Ryan Yarbrough joined because he could put his Japanese style under the Karate and Jujitsu side while keeping his Korean Hapkido all under one roof . while still learning hands on by great Grand Masters and Master rank martial artist and many years later in 2017 Ryan earned a black belt in Taekwondo style of Moo Sul Kwan Tang Soo Do first degree black belt .


American NinJutsu 

Akashi ,Hyogo Prefecture , Japan 

Soke Toshito Takamatsu March 10 , 1889 - April 2 , 1972 Known has the last shinobi and left the art of Ninjutsu to his high ranking student the founder of Bujinkan Grand Master  10th degree Hatsumi Masaaki  born Dec 2 , 1931 in Noda Chiba , Japan 

So how did Japanese NinJutsu get to Trinity NC to be called American NinJutsu .

In the 1970's and 1980's Karate Master Robert Bussey went to korea and was the first non Korean to earn black belt in Yong Bi Kwan Hapkido under Grand Master Dong Park .

Mr.Bussey than traveled to Japan and learned the art of NinJutsu and earned black belt from Grand Master Hatsumi Masaaki .

Mr.Bussey brought the art of Ninjutsu to America and its well known in Texas and the Ninjutsu Master's I had the honor to train hands on with Master Redmon and Master Yvounne Falgout whom my instructor hosted in High Point NC . 3rd Degree black belt Sensei Tim Ross trained me in 2003 and in 2018 I received my Sho Dan black belt in American Ninjutsu . 


Kuro Bushi Martial Arts Organization

2012 Sensei Ryan joined the KBMA and started teaching JuJitsu ground fighting at KBMA seminars and black belt meetings twice a year and was the JuJItsu arbitrator for JuJitsu submissions Gi and No gi and Sport JuJitsu Japanese style for his KBMA martial arts tournaments he hosted .

Hanshi Dukes a Karate 10th Dan black belt Grand Master and a black belt in Taekwondo , Aikia JuJitsu , Aikido , Judo ,  Hapkido , and Kickboxing 

was well known has a 4x Karate world champion and a middle weight American Kickboxing champion in 1990 .

E. Dukes ran a great Karate tournament , he had Johnny Davis run the IKF KIckboxing , and Renshi Ryan Yarbrough ran the JuJItsu from 2012 to 2020 

Ryan meet Hanshi Dukes fighting in Karate tournaments in 2007 and they became friends on the Karate tour . 

Ryan also trained under all the board members of KBMA and did Jujitsu seminars with JuJItsu legend Grand Master Troy J Price from NC , GM MIchael Willett from NY , GM Edmondson from NJ , Master Charles Battle of NC , Master Anthony Ford of NC , GM MIchael Allison of NC , GM Seitu Kenyatta , GM James Gray , Al Yisreal , Judo legend , and so many from Japan , Canada , Russia .

Never accepted rank just great fellowsip and learning . Cross training !

American Combat JuJitsu 

2017 Renshi Ryan started training with Professor Tony Maynard to better his JuJitsu and Hapkido program . Never took rank just good times and fellowship while learning .

Professor Tony Maynard 10th Dan American Combat JuJItsu founder and a 10th Dan American JuJitsu and Small Circle Ju JItsu .

Professor Maynard teacher was the famous founder of small circle JuJItsu Professor  Wall Jay whom played  in Bruce Lee movies and was known has one of Bruce Lee teachers . 

Professor Wally J and Professor Maynard traveled the world teaching and training the  Law enforcement and Military's .Professor Tony Maynard is considered the God Father of sport JuJItsu started in the 1980s taking it world wide , He is locally famous for fighting a bear ! 

Ryan has trained with a lot of his board of directors and top students like GM Bob Stines , Ric Anderson , Mickey Heath , A J Farmer , Shane Williams , Casey Martin , many more  from NC to world wide .

I always enjoy my visits to his house and training Dojo and his clinics and seminars . The knowledge at his Ju Jitsu Conventions is well worth more than the money you pay for attending dont miss out in 2025 .

Gracie Jiu Jitsu / Submission grappling 

IN 2007 I learned freestyle wrestling under Hapkido student a high school wrestling coach Felix Boggan that also taught me BJJ till 2008 . 2009 I joined Evolution Fighting Academy in MMA ,Muay Thai, and Submission grappling until 2010.                      2011 to 2012 I trained Gracie JiuJitsu . Attended many of submission grappling seminars from 2007 - current  to learn from ATT Jeff Monson , Pat Miletich , The Gracie's , Robson Moura , and many more . Again not for rank just to better myself .

Never too rank just rolled to better my self and our style of JuJitsu . 

2025 Became the head director for the JuJitsu / Submission grappling under Hanshi Derman Hodge .
